Reference images
These images should give most people an acceptable perception of the wind farm, within the limitations of static, printed images. They can be used as references for other visualisation methods such as the developer's panoramas and our videos. There is more information on the visualisation standards page.
Once downloaded, these images should be printed on A3 or 16"x12" photographic paper (unfortunately, A4 is not big enough). The inset scene itself should be 390x260mm when printed (the files are all set for 250dpi resolution). Follow the instructions on the print for viewing. Only parts of the windfarm are visible in each frame, so please refer to the notes on the images for the details.

Viewing Method

This picture shows the recommended way of holding the reference images when viewing on site. The image itself should obscure those parts of the foreground that are not included in the image. The images should be held at a comfortable arm's length (approx. 500mm).

WARNING If an image opens automatically in your browser when you download, it will be scaled far too small, so don't be deceived by this. Save the file for printing at the correct size, typically by File->Save Page As in your browser.
As with all high-resolution images of windfarms, these images are not designed to be viewed on most PCs because they are at a higher resolution than most monitors can cope with. If you do display the images on a screen, try to make the picture close to 390x260mm. Unless you have a very high resolution monitor, the turbines will be less visible than they should be, and you may get weird patterning on them caused by "aliasing", depending on the software you use.
